Mother Earth......
(A love sonnet )
Earth’s minions, why will you
subjugate her wonder?
For she will not lay silent nor still
nor dormant in riposte...
And will appropriation from our own
home be this world’s blunder...?
In selfish schemes, oh vacant dreams
and capital to boast.
With Pirate brunt a plunder to
bounteous soils,
Bereft a topiary cloak, muddy tears
erode her wealth....
Synthetic haze garrottes the air, angry
orb broils,
Oh black spotted emission, harbinger
of ill health.
And so bequeath your modest gifts to
a cherished hillside
Scatter seeds to the places laid bare
Then diverse, her life finds bowers
of plenty, far and wide
Become her choice, obtain with
care...
Stay safe in her branches and
treasure this art
Our earth, queen of wonder and nurturing
heart.
