Little Pink Dress on a Grey Cloud

I chose that little pink dress
I chose that dress once upon a choice
My own, my will, my chance
My time for merry fuchsia
Like a pendulous teardrop
Might dance from the dusty
Pink and white of a little girl
Into the bold of womanhood
Into RESPECT, like it had mixed
In with violet and black
To be noticed, to be seen
To be heard, to be known.
Pale Red, but bright Pink
Like a Pop Art kind
of popsicle fun
You might find in a fairground
Or someplace wild with
History.
I chose that little pink dress
Not for little grey clouds
With clothes pegs.
Not to be hung out to dry
Not to be forgotten
Not for you to shred into
Pieces of something unmistakably
Unthinkably attached to strings
Or pulleys
Or coloured young
Or filled by someone else
It’s still my dress.
It’s my flamingo
It’s not traditional white
There is no dove
It’s still my choice
It’s still our choice.
Man, woman, us, they
Anyone who knows equal
Once upon a choice
Is still now
Standing proud.
Bold, hot with life, here
Lined with a forest green velvet
heart and ocean smile......

Pink!

"Break A Leg"

“Break a Leg”

What if a broken leg was luck
What if the luck turned wonder struck
What if the wish I made on little words
And lone the twinkle star was heard….
What if I knew that from the start
All of the future was your heart
For all the world to hear
With magic dear
And with a tear
I loved you.

What if the rainbow by the river
What if it signed the sweeter giver
What if the pot of gold was really blooms
And blooms might never wither.
What if I knew it from the start
All of the future was your heart
For all the world to see
My honey bee
And with a tear
I loved you.

What if a shoe once lost was found again
From the colt in the field and made a wren
What if the lucky charm could fly intent
What if the wish I made was heaven sent.
What if in time a heart was really blue
What if the sun could make of feelings new
What if the red might shine and
Shine on through
And with a tear
I loved you.

What if the ocean was a ticking clock
What if the time, the time it wouldn’t mock
What if the endless crash of waves at night
Were the arms of lovers meeting thine
What if the past could be the future
And the future be the past
What if the now was ever lasting
As time forever fasting
What come, what may
From dusk til day
In anyway
And with a tear

I’ll love you.

Canopy for a Pixie Heart

Life is real pretending
Pretending is of life
Make believe
A Pixie heart
And that might be
Your start.

From Argonaut
To Astronaut
From dream to stars
To sight
Wonder, want and
Forests pining
Feathers grow
To flight

Pretenders stage
The story reels
With sparky tales
Or prickly woe
Review, rewind
Hello, Goodbye
Beware the friend
Or foe…

Music in the canopy
Invisible though there
Splayed the magic fernery
Of life, the beauty fair.
And in amongst the brushes
Seeded in the muck
A sunny shoot of pixie land
She’s there -our lady luck.

Actual and factual
Magical and bright
Weave us warm and
Restless too and ready
With a light
And should you cry
And should you smile
Stay awhile or wander,
Remember that I’m by your side
With love out to the yonder.

And more again. xx
