Glimmer glamour
shop fronted
Dazzler on
the top shelf.
It wasn’t
igneous rock
Sliced into
the edges
Of Escalators
Or polished
envy.
But it was
a diamond.
It was all parallel
And perpendicular
And tangent
to
A whole
circle
That you
can’t see
Put feels
Free.
Do you
remember
opening one
single
gift?
Do you
remember four
Coloured triangles
Bright like
day
In Summer
Bold like
That time
on a boat
Where the
ocean
Is everywhere
for miles
And miles
And the
water was navy blue with royal blue peaks and the clouds seemed to have almost
found their way to the surface of the water?
Humble
Like that
time
Tiny strands
of the ocean gently sliced rays of salt across our cheeks.
The kite
was hard to fly
At first…
Do you
remember?
It didn’t

But it
found us again
Like the
sails of a tall ship
Shipping breath
into colour
Into holding
life
Into outstretched
Open
Flight.
