There’s many kinds of flowers
Open, budding, waxy smooth, delicate,
Pointed and strong
Beautiful, unassuming, astounding,
Hardy or rare.
A bunch, a poesy, single stem in a lonely
Cry to the sun
We are the whole dam bunch.
Arrange a rainbow if you dare
Give a little flicker of life
In a humble offering
For that’s ok
To care
as though a daisy
Might wave to a bird on the green
Or geraniums dangle in the kiss
Of a warm breeze.
There’s many kinds of flowers
Bold, bright, pastel
Velvety
dreams, telescoping tubular and
Darling,
We are the
whole dam bunch
Depending on
the day
Depending
on the way
Of love and
life
And gardeners
So you
shrink
So you
bloom
Are you
shrinking really?
So you wilt
So you burn
on a bad day
Are you
really wilting?
Not because
he says so.
Not because
she decided.
Not because
they know you.
So you find
water
So you find
sun
So you do
the bluebell polka
On a good
day
Or a full Watlz
of the flowers
In a great year,
Because you
Are a
wildflower
Spirit
Full of
Seeds
To wish on
And plant
And
Make new
A blooming
Tomorrow.
